- Maximizing the output of hydrocarbons from an existing well
- Extending the life of a field that continues to produce
- Mitigating the need to replace production reserves
- Mitigating the need to drill new wells thereby avoiding the emissions from such drilling
Sustainability at Helix
At Helix, sustainability means operating with integrity, reducing our environmental footprint, and supporting the people and communities we serve.
Letter to Stakeholders
With operations worldwide, we balance energy transition and energy security — maximizing existing reserves, supporting renewables, and reducing decommissioning costs. Guided by our Sustainability Priorities, we show these goals can coexist, and we now share our progress through an interactive digital Sustainability Platform.

Our Company
Since 2012, the Helix business model has been focused on the late life aspects of the Oil & Gas market and providing specialty support to the development of offshore wind Renewables and energy.
Through the years, we have maintained incremental growth and a strong balance sheet with an overarching focus on our Safety, Sustainability and Value Creation. We offer services in three areas key to our Energy Transition strategy.
Maximizing existing reserves
+
Abandonment & Decommissioning
+
- Shallow and deepwater well abandonment
- Properly plugging and abandoning wells to prevent future uncontrolled releases, including potential methane leakage in Gulf of America shelf
- Asset retirement obligation (ARO) solutions
- Operations that are quicker and more efficient than a conventional drilling vessel (drillship)
Offshore renewables & windfarms
+
- Assisting with the implementation of alternative energy sources
- Applying techniques and technologies proven in offshore oil and gas fields in the renewables space

Methodology, Assurance and Review
+
The 2025 Report uses qualitative descriptions and quantitative metrics to describe our policies, programs, practices and performance. Many of the metrics used in preparing the 2025 Report may contain information that is inherently difficult to measure, and methods for collecting data continue to evolve and may contain estimates or assumptions believed to be reasonable at the time of preparation. The accuracy and reliability of this data depend on the availability, sufficiency and quality thereof and the methodologies used for its measurement and estimation. Changes to the data may be reported as updated data and/or other methodologies become available.
Helix’s Internal Audit and Financial Reporting teams led the review and assurance process with respect to the quantitative data, methodologies and reporting contained in the 2025 Report.
