Gulf of America rapid response

Helix Robotics Solutions was contracted to respond to an emergency situation involving a 900 foot long Norwegian oil tanker carrying more than 130,000 mT of crude oil that struck a submerged jackup rig in the Gulf of America.

The Northern Canyon ROV support vessel was mobilized out of Galveston, Texas, and was onsite 76 miles offshore in less than 24 hours. Canyon inspected the damaged vessel and located the submerged object that the tanker struck.
