Siem Helix 1 and 2
The Siem Helix 1 and Siem Helix 2 vessels are purpose designed well intervention vessels capable of all aspects of riser based, through-tubing well intervention operations as well as emergency response capabilities and well construction. Both vessels were built to contract for Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) and Siem Helix 1 (SH1) entered service for that company in April 2017. Siem Helix 2 (SH2) is due to commence operations in Brazil in Q1 2018.
Specific field operation capabilities also include subsea pumping and boosting, maintenance and retrieval capabilities. The
Siem Helix 1 and Siem Helix 2 are 158 m, wide beam vessels combining exceptional operational capabilities with enhanced station keeping. Both vessels feature the Integrated Tension Frame, offline maintenance tower and deck skidding system which optimize well operations aboard while reducing the need for lifts across the deck and removing man riding from well-center activities.
The Siem Helix 1 and Siem Helix 2 are classed as Well Intervention Unit 2 vessels and can operate in water depths up to 3,000 m of water with transit speed in excess of 12 kn, capable of providing service quickly and efficiently where needed.
