Executive EHS Charter

Mission

Provide leadership, support and guidance for the company to continuously improve field execution and performance in the areas of environment, health, and safety, with the ultimate goal of having an incident free work place.

Responsibilities

  • Sponsor development of corporate level systems, processes and practices
  • Promote and support "Sharing Lessons Learned" Campaign
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate resources, systems and controls are in place
  • Clearly communicate EHS expectations, principles, systems and processes to ensure understanding by all personnel and contractors
  • Analyze trends in EHS key performance indicators (leading and trailing indicators) and take improvement action as required
  • Provide the supportive culture that encourages personnel and contractors to work safely

Key Principles/Behaviors for Members to Follow/Support

  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment by being visibly engaged in EHS improvement activities.
  • Support line management in effectively demonstrating EHS leadership in the field.
  • Demonstrate genuine caring for all personnel and contractors as individuals.
  • No one is expected, nor has the authority, to compromise EHS for any other business objectives.
  • Allow business unit level line management to address local EHS issues and challenges, with your support as needed/appropriate.
  • Foster a consistent and efficient approach to EHS management that utilizes a partnership approach with customers and contractors.
  • Create a corporate environment and culture that gives recognition for effective EHS systems, behaviors and performance.
  • Behave in a manner consistent with EHS as a core value: 1) Lead by example, 2) Seek ways to become personally involved
  • Strive to turn negative occurrences into positive EHS lessons learned
